Supervision during the postdoc

Can you be supervised remotely in Arizona?
Yes. Required supervision can be done entirely by live video, with no in-person minimum.
- Video supervision: The statute requires 1 hour of "in-person, individual" supervision per 20 hours of postdoctoral experience. Telepractice supervision must use secure, confidential, real-time visual technology. Board rule R4-26-111 requires at least 50% of individual supervision to be in person or by visual technology, with a written telepractice agreement and risk analysis first.
- Phone only: limited: up to 50% of individual supervision may be by non-visual real-time technology (R4-26-111), though the statute speaks of visual telecommunication
- Supervisor licensed in Arizona? other: licensed at the independent level in the jurisdiction (US or Canada) where the supervision occurs. Military psychologists may be licensed in any US jurisdiction.
