Supervision during the postdoc

Can you be supervised remotely in Alaska?
Mostly, with some limits. What shapes this: prior board approval, video status not stated.
- Video supervision: The postdoctoral year requires at least 1 hour a week of individual "face-to-face" supervision (12 AAC 60.080(a)(3)(B)). "Face-to-face" is not defined, and the telepsychology rules say they do not override the supervision definitions. Whether video counts is unresolved. Another pattern can be approved in advance as an alternate supervision plan.
- Supervisor licensed in Alaska? other: at least 80% of supervision must come from "a licensed psychologist", an ABPP diplomate, or a board-qualified psychology doctorate, with no jurisdiction named. The other 20% may come from listed professions licensed in Alaska "or a similar law of another state".
- Board approval first: The board must approve the supervision plan and issue a temporary license before postdoctoral supervised experience begins in Alaska.
- If you live outside Alaska: Unresolved. Telepsychology with clients physically in Alaska requires a license as psychologist or psychological associate (12 AAC 60.405). That rule does not mention the temporary license held by postdoctoral applicants.

- 12 AAC 60.080(a)(9) omits the required percentage of supervised experience that must be direct services ('(9) of the supervised experience must be for activities constituting direct services') — what percentage applies?
- Does individual "face-to-face" supervision under 12 AAC 60.080(a)(3)(B) include real-time video?
- Do telehealth sessions count toward the 50% "face-to-face contact with patients" requirement?
- May a temporary licensee (12 AAC 60.020) provide telepsychology to Alaska clients, given that 12 AAC 60.405 lists only licensed psychologists and psychological associates?
- Must the supervising licensed psychologist hold an Alaska license when the postdoc practises in Alaska?
